What is a AI Cover Art?
AI cover art is a square (1:1) cover image generated by AI from a text prompt or a reference image, sized to meet streaming distributor requirements.
Cover art generation produces a still 1:1 square image rather than a video — the same shape every streaming distributor expects for a release. You can generate from a text prompt describing the artwork you want, or from a reference image if you already have a photo, logo, or draft cover to build from.
The resulting cover is rendered at high resolution — 3008×3008, up to 4K — so it meets distributor size requirements without needing to be upscaled separately afterward. If you need the artwork in a different shape later — for a social post or a banner, for instance — it can be expanded into a new ratio without cropping the original composition.
AI cover art is a distinct step from animating that cover. Generating the cover itself only produces the still image; if you want a moving version for a Spotify Canvas or a video teaser, you attach the finished cover as a starting frame in Canvas or Video mode and generate motion from there.
